Surface In-Situ Networks
The Data Acquisition and Management Section manage Portlandís HYDRA (Hydrological Data Retrieval and Alarm) system. This system collects and stores long-term, continuous rainfall information from over 40 rain gauges strategically placed for optimal rainfall data collection of Portlandís watersheds. Current and historical data is accessed through a web based interface and is used for operation, design and maintenance of the combined sewer system, as well as USGS and public information requests.
