DMSP/OLS
AVAILABILITY
Data are encrypted over most of the earth. Tape delayed data are available through NOAA NGDC. The direct broadcast data are open over the Antarctic.
REQUEST PROCEDURE
Order through NOAA NGDC.
Satellite Instruments
The operational line scanner is a cross track scanner in the visible to thermal infrared. The resolution is poor both spatially and radiometrically. The sensor has a unique "low-light" capability.
